Melissa Urbina: Clothes can be a very intimate part of our lives. When, what, and where we wear things often communicate the many facets of our individual personalities. It is because of the these moments that we build attachments to our clothes. My designs are pieces that will be worn and coveted by women, they should make them feel feminine and at ease, without frivolous or stifling elements. These designs, like fine art, will remain cherished. Much of the inspiration for these pieces, is based on history and cultural. This includes art movements, as well as pivotal historic epochs. The fusion of these interests has resulted in a design aesthetic that is uniquely Melissa Urbina; a design philosophy based on femininity, with just a touch of sensuality.
